Closed Consultations:

The 2012 Building Regulations consultation was launched on 31 January 2012 with a Statement by the Minister. The consultation documents are available on the DCLG website. These outline a range of deregulatory proposals and proposals to improve energy efficiency and safety aspects of the Regulations. The consultation is presented in four sections:

1. 1. Section one outlines the consultation approach and then presents proposals to change various technical aspects of the regulations.
   2. Section two outlines proposals to increase the energy efficiency of buildings.
   3. Section three contains proposals in relation to electrical safety in homes.
   4. Section four outlines changes to the building control system.

The 2012 Building Regulations consultation exercise has now closed. The Department is considering the responses and will publish a summary of responses on the DCLG website.
