Local Development Frameworks

Local Development Framework (LDF) is the term for the portfolio of local development documents which will comprise the spatial planning strategy for your area.

These new-look documents were introduced as a result of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and represent an important part of the government’s planning reform agenda.

LDFs will replace the existing system of local, structure and unitary development plans.
