What is a Householder appeal?

For the purpose of the pilot a householder appeal is one against a refusal of planning permission (or the granting of permission subject to conditions to which you object) for development attached to a residential property or within its curtilage.  It does not include

  • a change of use or the erection of a dwelling;
  • appeals against "non-determination", ie where the Council failed to issue a decision within the timescale allowed; or
  • householder appeals which are accompanied by an appeal against the refusal of listed building consent or the service of an enforcement notice.

If the development is attached to a residential property or within its curtilage and you would like to take part in the Pilot, please click on the links below to find out more:

If the development is not attached to a residential property please return to the Appeals main page.
