What is Second Life?

Second Life is a 3D virtual world inhabited by millions of users world-wide. The Planning Portal has recreated its successful Interactive House in Second Life so that you can walk around its interior.

Simply enter the house, wander around at your leisure, and touch the blue information boxes to find out more about relevant planning regulations, or the green ones to see tips on how to reduce your home’s impact on the environment.

New to Second Life?

If you don't already have a Second Life account, then getting started couldn't be easier.

1. Visit our express registration page, pick an avatar name and fill in your personal details. You'll be sent a confirmation email.

2. Follow the link in the email to download and install the Second Life client software (75mb).

3. Launch the client, enter your avatar name and password, and you'll be teleported to the Planning Portal Second Life house.
