05/01 - Housing grants construction and regeneration Act 1996: Part 1

This circular gives advice on amendments to the test of resources for grants under Part 1 of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1991 which came into force on 2 April 2001.

In addition, it provides updated guidance on financial matters and general points of advice on the renovation grant system. It supplements DoE and DETR circulars 17/96, 04/97, 17/97, 04/98, 06/99 and 03/2000. Most of it has been set out in a manner that allows for insertion of extracts into the body of circular 17/96.
