1App Accredited suppliers
In March 2005, the Government issued a consultation paper on specific proposals to streamline and simplify the arrangements for handling applications for planning permission and associated consents.
The consultation paper proposed the introduction of a standard application form covering planning permission and other associated consent regimes to be used by all local planning authorities (LPAs) in England. The proposals included an interactive electronic application form, as well as a paper-based version.
The Government intends to amend the Town and Country Planning (General Development Procedure) Order 1995 to provide for the mandatory use of the Standard Application Form on 6 April 2008. Before this date, LPAs should offer the new system when they are ready.
In line with the Planning Portal's previous accreditation process, a similar scheme has been administered for suppliers who integrate either their development control or document management systems to the Portal using the published 1APP XML schemas.
