Fast Track Agent Accreditation

Overview

It should be possible for agents accredited as meeting the standard for quality applications to be assured that they will receive faster processing of their applications by local authorities by the end of 2005/06 and regardless of geographic area.

What’s PARSOL doing?

The PARSOL Fast Track scheme, has demonstrated the benefits to applicants, agents and local authorities of improving the quality of submitted applications.

The current scheme will be developed further to include the submission of electronic applications and a business case will be developed for a national system, whereby LPAs will accept Fast Track applications from agents accredited by other authorities in the scheme, and incorporating the benefits derived from the introduction of the 1APP national application form.

Project deliverables

In support of achieving this vision, this project will deliver:

  • An updated Fast Track scheme, including standards for the submission of online applications
  • A support service for LPAs implementing the scheme
  • Development of a business case/proposals for the implementation of a national Fast track accreditation scheme to be implemented in 2006/7
  • Development and implementation of a marketing strategy to drive take-up amongst LPAs

Delivery timetable

By the end of March 2007, the number of local planning authorities (LPAs) offering this service is expected to increase from two (September 2005) to around 10 authorities and 40 accredited planning agents.
