Housing Act 2004 -Act Chapter 34 2004, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister

This Act replaces the existing housing fitness standard with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System.

 

Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 - Act Chapter 5 2004

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 is a key element of the Government’s agenda for speeding up the planning system. The provisions introduce powers which allow for the reform and speeding up of the plans system and an increase in the predictability of planning decisions, the speeding up of the handling of major infrastructure projects and the need for simplified planning zones to be identified in the strategic plan for a region.

 

Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 - Act Chapter 37 2000 - Department of the Environment

The Act contains measures to improve public access to the open countryside and registered common land while recognising the legitimate interests of those who own and manage the land concerned.

 

Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1999 -Act Chapter 24 1999 - Department of the Environment Transport and the Regions

This Act gives the Secretary of State the power to make regulations providing for a new pollution control system to meet the requirements of European Council Directives on Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control and for other measures to prevent and control pollution.

 

Human Rights Act 1998 - Act Chapter 42 1998

An Act to give further effect to rights and freedoms guaranteed under the European Convention on Human Rights.

 

Housing Act 1996 - Act Chapter 52 1996

An Act to make provision about housing, the rented sector, houses in multiple occupation, landlord and tenant matters, the administration of housing benefit, the conduct of tenants, and the allocation of housing accommodation by local housing authorities and homelessness.

 

Environment Act 1995 - Act Chapter 25 1995 - Department of the Environment

The act that established the Environment Agency, and transferred to it powers over the control of pollution and the conservation and enhancement of natural resources and the environment.

 

Planning and Compensation Act 1991 - Act Chapter 34 1991

This Act amends the law relating to town and country planning to extend the powers to acquire by agreement land that may be affected by carrying out public works and to provide compensation where applicable.

 

Town and Country Planning Act 1990 - Act Chapter 8 1990 - Department of the Environment

This Act consolidates certain enactments relating to town and country planning (excluding special controls in respect of buildings and areas of special architectural or historic interest and in respect of hazardous substances).

This Act consolidates certain enactments relating to special controls in respect of buildings and areas of special architectural or historic interest.

 

Environmental Protection Act 1990 - Act Chapter 43 1990

An Act to make provision for the improved control of pollution and hazardous substances arising from industrial and other processes.
