MPG2 Applications, Permissions and Conditions (revised July 1998)

This MPG contains advice on the handling of planning applications for minerals development, on planning permissions and on the imposition of planning conditions.

It defines mining operations and the need for permission, how permitted development rights apply and the need for environmental assessment, public notification and application procedures, as well as considering special issues such as possible affects on common land and rights of way.
