Amendment: The confirmation receipt for new appeals has been updated with the postal address and the e-mail address to which supporting documents should be sent if they were not attached to the appeal form.

A reminder has also been added to the confirmation receipt for new appeals to ensure a copy is sent to the council.

New: A separate 'Appeals Advice' section has been added to the Appeals area of the Portal where all our published advice pages have been placed.  This should provide easier access to this information.

New: We have started to publish a series of Advice Notes for Local Authorities.  The first Note relates to avoiding duplication.  The Notes can be accessed via the new 'Planning Casework Service / Appeals Advice Notes' section of the Government User area of the Portal.

From this date we are suspending the scanning of evidence sent to us in paper form, and the publication of evidence.  We will still publish summary details of the case, progress information and the decision, and users will still be able to use the online appeal and document submission facilities.  We will also contine to accept submissions by e-mail.

Change: 6 weeks after the date of the decision, all other documents will be removed from view through the Case Search facility.

NB Unfortunately, as a result of this change, a number of decisions are no longer visible on the Portal.  You can contact our Customer Services Team on 0117 372 8372 if the decision you wish to access is not there.

Fix: The 'Clear' and 'Clear All' functions in the Case Search screen did not clear the tick from the +/- 30 days etc boxes.

Change: Changes to Enforcement Questionnaire as follows
- Addition of new question relating to health and safety issues
- Addition of new question about gypsy status
- Where the appellant or agent have requested a hearing or inquiry, the LPA can indicate their choice of procedure, but all parts of Question 2 (ability to see all parts of the site, need for Inspector to enter site, health and safety issues, need to go onto private land) are no longer mandatory.
- The question relating to Agricultural land is no longer mandatory
- The question relating to Public Rights of Way is no longer mandatory
- The date format for adoption of the relevant plan is now Month and Year only.
- Where the LPA indicate that a part of the site is subject to a Tree Preservation Order, they are now asked to provide a plan.
- The questions about Environmental Assessment have been changed and clarified
- The LPA can now indicate whether the document in support of any Article 4 Direction is attached or will follow
