Choose country and language preference
If you know the case reference number, we recommend that you use this to search for the case. Type the last 7 digits, excluding any WF or NWF suffix, into the Case reference field:

Once you have entered the number, click on the Search for cases button, the Case search results screen will be displayed:

Alternatively, you can search using other information you may have i.e. the postcode of the site location, the council name or case type.
When searching for the LPA, you do not need to worry about the exact name – a shortened version may be used, see below:

Click on the Search button:

The LPA name will be added to the field in full or if there is more than one option, a list will be displayed. Select the appropriate LPA by clicking on the Select button.

You can also use the “More” button to access other fields to use in your search. For further information on using the More options, click here. Please note: You will leave this tutorial if you follow this link.
Please note since the system will try to match with everything that you enter, the fewer criteria you use the more likely you are to get a result. However, if you are conducting a wide search – for example, all cases in the County of Devon - the results list will be limited to the first 100 entries. The results screen will warn you that there may be more results that cannot be displayed. You will then need to return to the Search criteria screen and refine your search.
