PM calls for planning changes to deliver infrastructure
Prime Minister David Cameron has stressed the need for further measures to streamline the planning system as he and Chancellor George Osborne highlighted that more than 200 projects in rail, road, local transport, flood defences, broadband, airport infrastructure and waste management are due to start construction in 2014 to 2015.

Land deal moves motor racing scheme closer
Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council has agreed in principle that six parcels of land it owns totalling nearly 200 hectares can be made available to the company planning an ambitious motor racing development in Ebbw Vale which must replace some 263 hectares of common land affected by the scheme if the project goes ahead.

Essex tourist attraction scheme rejected
Proposals for a tourist attraction centred on a former tomato nursery at Horkesley Park, some eight kilometres from Colchester town centre and west of the A314 on the edge of the Stour Valley, have been dismissed on appeal by Communities Secretary Eric Pickles.
