If the Case Search fails

If the search facility failed to return any results, please check the search criteria you used...

  • Does the last part of the appeal reference number start with a “2”?  If not, we are sorry but you will not be able to view this appeal online as it is held on a different system.

  • Have you included the WF or NWF suffix?  If so, remove from the reference number and try the search again.

  • Have you used the reference number and any other information?  If you have, you only need to use the reference number as this will be sufficient to carry out the search.

  • Do you have a list of cases but the particular case you are looking for is not displayed?  This could be because the case has not been accepted as valid.  Or it could be that more than 100 cases match the search criteria you entered.  We only display 100 results, so you will need to try again, using additional criteria to refine your search.

  • Have you checked the Availability page?  From time to time the Appeals area of the Planning Portal is unavailable due to upgrades to the facilities, so you won’t be able to search the system.  Please check the Availability page. Please note: You will leave this tutorial if you follow this link.
