Circular 08/09: Arrangements for Handling Heritage Applications - Notification to the Secretary of State

Local planning authorities are required, at present, to notify the Secretary of State, English Heritage and the National Amenity Societies of applications for listed building consent which they are minded to grant and in accordance with the arrangements set out in Circular 01/01.

The Direction, annexed to this circular, removes the requirement to notify the Secretary of State except in the case of applications to which English Heritage or one of the National Amenity Societies has objected.
