Whether or not you need to apply for planning permission for your work, there are some other kinds of approval you may need. Most are given by the council which will be able to let you have further information.

Certain other kinds of approval are required when proposed development would affect special environmental features or create potential dangers. In all cases the local planning department will be able to direct applicants to the department or organisation where the necessary applications should be made.
