Development plans

The Division also oversees the development plan system in Wales and prepares procedural and policy guidance to promote full coverage by up to date development plans.

It provides advice to local planning authorities during the preparation of their plans, makes representations at key stages in the process, and advises on the use of the Assembly Government’s powers to intervene as necessary.

The Division maintains close working links with the Assembly Government’s Wales Spatial Plan Unit.
