Working with the Planning Portal

The Planning Portal allows local planning authorities to deliver their core e-planning services:

Electronic planning applications

• making the application process quicker and more efficient
• cutting down on the number of incorrectly submitted forms
• helping local authorities meet IEG and BVPI targets

Planning advice

• Giving the user access to a range of development control and appeals advice
• Cutting down on calls to the local authority's planning department

Online development plans

• Allowing public and professional users to consult the local plan online
• An interactive map that allows users to view specific policies in context

The Portal offers three levels of integration for local authorities. Some services are only available at certain levels of engagement.
